The Busan Metropolitan Government decided to spend 18.2 billion won to remodel the Asiad Main Stadium in 2027 and use it as an alternative stadium for Sajik Baseball Stadium for three years from 2028.

The temporary stadium will have 12,000 seats by utilizing the existing Asiad Main Stadium facilities. Currently, it is about 50 percent of the 23,000 seats at Sajik Baseball Stadium.

During the temporary stadium use period, competition for tickets is expected due to lack of seats during weekend games and big matches where many Lotte Giants fans gather.

Although the Asiad Main Stadium has 53,000 seats, the Busan Metropolitan Government plans to use only the first and second floor seats and restrict access to the third and fourth floors with high slopes in consideration of baseball cheering culture and crowd safety.

The Busan Metropolitan Government plans to add an "exciting zone" on the track of the Asiad Main Stadium to support athletes closely and reinforce protective fences and lights.

I'Park, a professional soccer team that uses the Asiad Main Stadium as its home stadium, will use Gudeok Stadium from 2027.
